Application
This alloy is employed in the welding of nickel base alloys, facilitating connections to themselves as well as to stainless steels, carbon steels, and Monel alloys. Its notable Titanium (Ti) content contributes to outstanding resistance against porosity, making it particularly well-suited for field welding applications. Common usage scenarios encompass a diverse range, including desalination plants, piping systems, furnace equipment, and installations within petrochemical and power generation plants. Additionally, it finds application in the surfacing of carbon steels, offering a combination of elevated strength and corrosion resistance across a wide temperature spectrum—from cryogenic temperatures to temperatures exceeding 980°C. Noteworthy is the alloy's capability to undergo age hardening, further enhancing its strength, particularly within the temperature range up to about 700°C.

Welding & PWHT
In preparation for welding or heating a nickel-base alloy, prioritizing the cleanliness of the base metal is imperative. Contaminants such as oil, grease, paint, and materials containing sulfur or lead pose a risk of inducing cracking (embrittlement) in both the base metal and the weld metal during these procedures. When dealing with fully austenitic and nickel base steels, exercise meticulous control over factors like heat input, interpass temperature, and dilution with the parent metal. Adhere strictly to a low heat input (max 1.5 kJ/mm) and maintain an interpass temperature limit of 100°C to ensure optimal outcomes.
